Third Time’s a Charm

And what a charming evening it was. We could not be more thrilled with the success of our last supper. Collaborating with the amazing team at Ala Kukui was an absolute dream, from the stunning setting on a lush estate, to the historic home where we set our tables to the gourmet kitchen our chef was able to work in, we could not have asked for a better environment to host this last supper.

Tucked away in the jungle, up a long narrow drive sits the Architectural masterpiece known as Hale Ohia, the home of Victoria and Michael our gracious host for the Second Supper. Sharing there magnificent home and property wasn’t the only treat we had in store for our guests.  While Chef Robin Newton prepared a delicious five course meal, our guests took a small tour of the 100+ acre property which boasts giant Norfolk Pine trees, painted Bamboo, citrus fruit orchid, a massive Cacoa tree and Pohole Fern that Chef Robin harvested the day prior for the meal.

Backing up to 35,000 acres of the Haleakala National Forest is Hale Ohi’a, the home of Veronika Sandor and Michael Porrazzo. It is also the location of our second supper. Veronika and Michael are graciously opening up their home, just 8 miles north of Hāna Town, for this unique culinary experience. Not only will we join together for a magnificent meal but we will tour the Aina of the Alii. Discover the birthing pools of Hawaiian royalty and a breath-taking waterfall that feeds the land. After, we will all join together at the table to toast and taste a gourmet meal prepared with selections from the grove.

Hāna Supper Club is thrilled to once again collaborate with Chef Robin to bring you this unique feast in East Maui. Using fresh and locally sourced ingredients, Chef Robin’s creations will tantalize your taste buds and fill your bellies.

Join us at our table, Saturday June 8th, 2013. Property tour 4:00 to 5:30, Supper to follow.

Reservations are now open, seating is limited.

The tour of the property will require proper attire and footwear.

The First Supper

Afternoon showers brought an anxious tinge to the setup for the first supper. Especially after the drenching that our tent-builders experienced the day before. Thankfully, the rain was light and swift. And followed by the evening’s first gift: a beautiful Maui rainbow.

Guests with bottles of wine in hand began arriving promptly at 5pm, excited to be the first to take a seat at the table. Looking ever so lovely, our gracious host Karen Davidson welcomed them into her studio and home, showing off her latests pastels and hand-made paper sculptures. Guests mingled around the breath-taking property looking for whales breaching in the sea. Some folks were meeting each other for the first time while others were dear old friends.

Site Visit at Karen Davidson’s Art Studio

There are no words to express the excitement we’re feeling for our premiere event. We are humbled by the warm sentiments so many have expressed since our launch. It’s reassuring to suddenly realize that we are striving to deliver something that other people in our community have been quietly longing for. Especially when that something is not a product — but an experience.

Today we toured the site of our kick-off supper. In a word, the setting is unreal. A magnificent view, gorgeous works of art, the serenity of Hāna, Maui. This venue has the potential for sensory overload! The art, the landscape, the food.

We took heaps of photos on our scouting mission. And we would love to show you more… but we don’t want to give too much away. Come sit at our table and experience it for yourself.
